The central defendant sentenced for Lumpkin County 21-year-old Hannah Bender’s 2019 murder won’t have his case heard before a jury a second time, according to a recent Dawson County Superior Court filing.

A DeSana Middle School student is facing charges after an investigation into a bomb threat hoax was traced back to the student and a 10-year-old in Maine. Sheriff Ron Freeman says it’s no joke — and it’s time for parents and students to help stop the “stupid foolishness.”
