Sewer spill cleaned up in southwest Forsyth
sewage

SOUTHWEST FORSYTH — A crew from the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department contained a small sewer spill last week in a southwest Forsyth subdivision.

According to the department, the incident was reported about 9:40 a.m. Friday by a customer who noticed water spill from a manhole at 3030 Highland Pass.

The responding crew determined the line was blocked with debris. The blockage was cleared by jetting the line.

The department estimated that about 1,200 gallons of gray water spilled from the manhole and entered a small tributary before the blockage was cleared about 10:45 a.m.

The area was cleaned and limed and signs were posted.
