Byron Grogan, a 19-year-old University of Georgia student and former cross country runner at Lambert who was reported missing by family early Tuesday after he went out for a run at Chattahoochee Pointe Park at 9 p.m. Monday, has returned home, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

Over 150 emergency workers and volunteers spent the entire day Tuesday searching an area of the Chattahoochee River near the park where Grogan's car, with his cell phone and wallet inside, were located.

Officials say Grogan returned home at 2:09 Wednesday morning.

"He walked in the front door," said Cpl. Doug Rainwater, spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

The circumstances surrounding his disappearance and whereabouts during the time Grogan was missing are still being investigated, according to Rainwater.
