Keep Forsyth County Beautiful will hold an electronics recycling event on Oct.1.

Residents can drop off accepted items between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off of Castleberry Road.

"Keep Forsyth County Beautiful hosts two electronics recycling events each year," said Tammy Wright, environmental programs manager.

"These events provide an opportunity for citizens to get rid of those unwanted electronics around their house, and to do so in an environmentally-friendly way."

Accepted items for recycling include, among others, computers, stereos, CD players, cell phones, microwaves and cameras.

The minimum donation per carload for drop-off is $5, while an additional $10 fee will apply for all televisions.

Some items, such as large wooden console TVs, toaster ovens and refrigerators, will not be accepted.

Allowable electronics can also be recycled for a fee during normal operating hours at the Forsyth County Tolbert Street Center.
