The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Shady Grove Campground, 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road (click for map) in eastern Forsyth.
Day passes for the festival are $10 per vehicle. Tent and camper sites will be available and include admission to the festival.
The Grass in the Grove Bluegrass Festival returns Saturday to Shady Grove Campground on Lake Lanier.
The third annual event features six bands pickin’ and grinnin’ tunes all day long Saturday.
“Where else in the area can you see live music and have the lake as a backdrop?” said Matt Pate, outdoor programs manager for Forsyth County, which puts on the event.
The festival, Pate said, is always “a great time for families and friends to get together, hang out at the lake and enjoy some really incredible bluegrass talent.”
This year’s lineup includes Honi Deaton and Dream, 4ever Blue, Raven Welch, Blueridge Grass, Larios Brothers and Legacy Drive.
“Open jamming” will also be encouraged.
Forsyth resident Cheryl Adams said she plans to attend the festival with her family.
“The music was good last year,” Adams said. “Lots of good memories. It’s a fun concert.”
Pate said nice weather has helped ensure success in past years.
“The weather has been extremely pleasant the last two years, and makes it perfect for sitting outside and listening to live music,” he said.
