A benefit account has been set up for a North Forsyth High School football player who underwent brain surgery after collapsing during practice last week.
The account was created to assist Josh Haddock and his family with medical and other expenses.
The 17-year-old senior was taken to Northside Forsyth-Hospital and later Northside in Atlanta after going into distress during practice about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Officials have said that the surgery relieved bleeding on his brain.
As of late last week, Haddock remained in critical condition at the hospital.
Anyone wishing to help can stop by any Regions Bank location and make a deposit into the Josh Haddock account.
As a symbol of their support for Haddock, football players planned to wear a special T-shirt during their home opener Friday night against Woodstock.
Thursday morning, some 600 students, teachers and parents gathered around the high school's flagpole to pray for their classmate.
North head football coach Jared Zito has described Haddock as "the ultimate high-energy team member that any coach or player would want to have around them at all times."
