Forsyth County Publix sells $1 million Powerball ticket

A local customer should soon have a million reasons to keep shopping at Forsyth County grocery store.

A winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million was recently sold at Publix at 5475 Bethelview, though the winner has not yet claimed the prize. Under lottery rules, winners have 180 days after the draw date to come forward.

The winning numbers in Saturday’s drawing were 5-43-56-62-68 and the Powerball was 24. The ticket matched all numbers except the Powerball.

The jackpot for Saturday was $247 million, and Wednesday’s drawing for the Powerball is estimated is at $40 million.
