Traffic should be lighter this week as the Forsyth County school system is off.
Rather than Wednesday through Friday, as in years past and in some other districts, Forsyth schools are closed the entire week of Thanksgiving.
Associate Superin-tendent Joey Pirkle said this is the third year the system has been out the whole week.
“We did this because of overwhelming feedback from families wanting the whole week off at Thanksgiving,” Pirkle said.
“I think a lot of people travel that week, so it’s best to have the whole week off.”
Students and teachers will return to school Nov. 28.
School will then be in session until winter break begins on Dec. 21.
