NORTH FORSYTH — They’re headed to state.

North Forsyth High School’s varsity academic team blazed through its regional completion on Nov. 15, taking home the first-place trophy and sitting in the frontrunner seat heading into state.

Eleven other teams competed against North as part of the Foothills RESA Region at Flowery Branch High School, with the top three from each region advancing, according to Eve Phillips, the high school’s media specialist.

Last year, North’s team placed second in the region and won state.

The state-level competition is planned for Feb. 7 in Flowery Branch.
