Forsyth County News
Three North Forsyth High School students have been released to their parents after officials discovered they had taken pills on campus.

Jennifer Caracciolo, Forsyth County school system spokeswoman, said it is not clear what type of pills the girls ingested.

She said the school was put on lockdown for about 15 minutes because of the incident, which occurred about 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

The girls, whose names have not been released, are between the ages of 15 and 16.

“This was not a suicide attempt,” said Caracciolo, adding that a teacher noticed one of the students wasn’t feeling well and sent her to the school nurse.

It was soon determined that two other students had also possibly ingested pills.

Authorities said the girls were taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, where they were treated and released.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Frank Huggins said the incident is under investigation.

It has not been determined if any charges will be filed.
