A man who police say was responsible for a four-vehicle wreck last month on Browns Bridge Road has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide.
Six people, including a Forsyth County woman, were injured in the collision.
Gainesville police say 33-year-old Andrew Jason Grier was under the influence of methamphetamine when he crossed the center line of Browns Bridge Road the morning of Aug. 18 and caused a series of wrecks that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Alicia Mote was riding in a Ford Escort with her parents when the car was struck by Grier's 2009 Ford F-150 pickup truck about 9:05 a.m. She later died of her injuries.
Grier has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving and first-degree vehicular homicide, Gainesville Police Lt. Brian Kelly said.
The wreck, which took place at Montgomery Drive near Gainesville, closed Browns Bridge Road for about two hours.
