DAWSONVILLE — Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying a suspect from a recent armed robbery at CVS in Dawsonville.

Dawson County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Wooten said the man entered the store about noon Feb. 17 and demanded prescription pills from the pharmacy.

"Speaking to an employee, we were advised that a white male came into the store asking for a specific narcotic," he said.

Wooten declined to say what narcotic it was exactly, but according to Dawson County Sheriff's Maj. Ray Goodie, the man was able to get away with about 13 pills.

Wooten said the man was armed with a handgun.

"The subject showed an employee a handgun in his waistband and demanded the drug," he said.

Video surveillance taken from the scene shows the man wearing what appears to be a gray coat, jeans, work boots and a beige bucket hat.

"At that point, we can't say for sure whether or not he left in a vehicle, as it was out of sight of the cameras,” Wooten said.

No one was injured in the incident. Other customers shopping at the pharmacy most likely were not aware the robbery had occurred, according to Goodie.

Wooten said that the subject could also be connected to other robberies in the area.

"We do have reason to believe that he may be connected to other crimes of similar nature at other pharmacies in the region," he said. "He could possibly be responsible for at least one more armed robbery in North Georgia around December 2014."
