Agents executing a search warrant at a Buford home last week discovered hundreds of pounds of marijuana worth more than $706,000, according to authorities.

Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad officers searched a home Wednesday, March 13, on Old Wood Hollow Way in Buford.

Four people were arrested at the home “while they were actively engaged in cultivating the marijuana plants,” Lt. Don Scalia wrote in a news release.

Agents found 253 marijuana plants growing in the basement, roughly 100 pounds of processed marijuana, 120 pounds of marijuana byproducts and 159 “root balls from harvested marijuana plants,” Scalia said.

Beyond the drugs, Scalia said officers seized packaging materials, scales and $1,074 in cash.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is $706,000.

Tuan Le Khac, 39, of Buford, James Thanh Nguyen, 52, of Lawrenceville, Thu Loan Phan, 44, of Montezuma, and Vinh Thein Train, 54, of Lawrenceville, were charged with manufacturing and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

All of them were booked in to the Hall County Jail.
