Bear on the Square, an authentic Appalachian Heritage Festival featuring bluegrass and old-time music, celebrates its 27th year! In addition to the musicians in the MainStage tent and jamming around the Square, the festival includes a juried Artists Market Place featuring traditional mountain crafts, storytelling, free music workshops and demonstrations, local wine and beer, a Sunday Gospel Jam, children’s activities, dancing, and more. For the 2025 installment of its annual event, the Marine Trade Association of Metro Atlanta (MTAMA) invites attendees of the Lake Lanier Boat Show to “Unplug, Explore, and Enjoy.” Guests of the 2025 Boat Show can stroll the docks of Margaritaville at Lanier Islands, where row after row of the latest boat models will be anchored. In addition to the chance to shop boats at exclusive boat show pricing, this not-to-be-missed, three-day Spring event will include chances to climb aboard available boats, ask questions of industry experts, attend fishing seminars, listen to live music, visit “lake life” vendors, take part in kid-friendly activities, enjoy tasty food and ice-cold beer, stroll the beach, and more. Above all, guests can expect an effortless boat-buying experience.  On Saturday, Rick Stone takes the stage from 3-6 p.m. and on Sunday, Black Cat Moon entertains crowds from 1-4 p.m. Tickets for the 2025 Lake Lanier Boat Show are $15 per person. Tickets for children ten years and under are $8 per person, and children two years and younger will be admitted free of charge. A Circus Blessing is a fundraising event created Kylee Zulauf at 11 years old to help raise funds for Blessings in a Backpack Forsyth. Blessings in a Backpack Forsyth is ran by Lambert High School students. Each week they pack meals for approximately 520 school age Forsyth County Students to merge the hunger gap over the weekends.    Kylee was 10 when she began her circus journey and saw her very 1st circus show. She was dissapointed when she found out how much circus tickets cost. She knew that most kids in the Blessings in a Backpack program will never get to see the one thing that she loves the most. For some of the kids, affording a day of family fun is just not in the budget. A Circus Blessing is open to everyone, but proudly provides every student in the Blessings in a Backpack program a free ticket to the event. All donations and funds collected from A Circus Blessing will go directly to Blessings in a Backpack Forsyth. ​ With your help, A Circus Blessing will truly be like no other! The Ryan Joiner Foundation & Quinlan Visual Arts Center Present Connections in Color: Mental Health Art Contest 2025 Join us on April 27th at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center (514 Green St, Gainesville, GA 30501) for this year’s Connections in Color: Mental Health Art Contest, celebrating the impact of nature and the world around us on mental health. High school students from Gainesville City Schools, Hall County Schools, private schools, and homeschoolers are invited to participate in this unique live art competition. Theme: This year, we encourage students to explore how connection to nature and the world around us influences mental well-being. Whether it’s the serenity of a quiet forest, the power of the ocean, or the sense of peace from a sunset, we want to see how the natural world fosters resilience, emotional balance, and self-discovery. Competition Details: Students will create their artwork on-site with provided materials (electronic tools and pre-existing designs are not permitted). Two winners will each receive a $500 cash prize, and their school’s art department will also receive $500 in funding.   All artwork created during the competition will be showcased at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center for a special exhibition.
