Local tennis enthusiasts are welcome to attend the Tennis Against Breast Cancer fundraising event Oct. 23, sponsored by Northside Hospital-Forsyth.
The event, scheduled during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, also features a gourmet lunch, silent auction and fashion show.
Though the event has been held in north Fulton for several years, Kelli Buchwald, community relations manager for the hospital, added an event in Forsyth four years ago.
“It’s a really cool event. It’s ... informational, but it’s also really fun,” she said. “We have so many people from the community that are going to participate, I’m just so excited this year.”
The luncheon will feature radiologist Lynn Baxter, who will speak about breast cancer research and treatment. All proceeds will benefit the hospital’s breast care program.
Buchwald said there are still a few slots left to play in the tournament and room for guests during the luncheon.
The event begins with registration at 8 a.m. Oct. 23, with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.
