CUMMING — The Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its annual Excellence in Business Awards through March 4.

Jason Mock, the chamber’s director of small business services, said the only requirement is that the business is a member of the chamber.

“This is our yearly event that we do for the chamber and recognize our business community and the things that they have achieved for their business and in the community,” he said.

“You can nominate a business if you would like, and you can nominate yourself.”

Nominees will be sent an application. A committee will then narrow the field and take site visits. The awards will be given out during a gala April 21.

“This year we’re changing it up a little bit,” Mock said. “In the past, we have done a lunch and a breakfast … this year, we’re going to have a dinner for the folks and try to make this a little bit nicer event for our business community.”
