Atlanta Highway Seafood Market in Gainesville has been awarded the 2016-17 “100 Plates Locals Love” distinction by Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Tourism division for its fried shrimp po boy.
The sandwich includes fried shrimp topped with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise, according to Atlanta Highway Seafood Market’s menu on its website.
Gainesville Convention & Visitors Bureau Manager Lee McMichael was pleased to see a local restaurant in the statewide lineup.
“It shines the spotlight on all the other great eateries in Gainesville and Hall County as well,” McMichael said. “Congrats to Phuong Le and his staff of Atlanta Highway Seafood Market!”
It is the second year for the “100 Plates Locals Love” distinctions, which are featured in the state’s culinary guide, Georgia Eats. The dishes were selected from nearly 600 nominations submitted on ExploreGeorgia.org in November 2015 and evaluated by a panel of judges, who selected the final list of “100 Plates Locals Love.”
