Authorities release new photos of newborn abandoned in south Forsyth
Baby India
Authorities are still searching for the parents of baby India, the newborn infant that was found abandoned in southeast Forsyth in early June.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has released new photos of Baby India, the newborn infant that was found abandoned in southeast Forsyth in early June, with the hopes that someone will come forward with information leading them to the child’s parents.

The newborn was discovered in woods along Dave’s Creek Road at about 10 p.m. on June 6. The child was reportedly found wrapped in a plastic grocery bag by local residents who heard her cries and was rushed to a local hospital by first responders.

According to the case’s lead investigator, Detective Tim Conner, they are looking for a female who may have been in the late stages of her pregnancy on Thursday and who may now inexplicably not have a child.

A sheriff’s office spokesman confirmed on Thursday that they are currently working with Augusta area authorities to investigate a potential lead in Richmond County.

Anyone with information on this incident can reach the sheriff's office by calling (770) 781-3087. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the sheriff’s office’s anonymous tip line at (770) 888-7308.
